New Athlete Clinics are held year round and nationwide for any community that has the interest in providing the sport in their area. USPSA board members, member teams and volunteers present these clinics in order to introduce power soccer to potential athletes, coaches, friends and families and promote the development of this fast growing sport
Many clinics are conducted at MDA summer camps, local parks and recreation departments, schools and colleges. Frequently clinics are initiated by ordinary people who happen to know someone in a power chair. The main responsibility of the “host city” is to secure an accessible facility that has a regulation size basketball court or a comparable space. The USPSA will assist you with materials and outreach ideas to find and recruit your target audience. The clinic leader will provide the necessary equipment such as guards, balls, and cones. The clinic leader may conduct your presentation through a variety of means; DVD presentation, a “hand’s on” clinic where the participants actually learn through skill and game play, or perhaps through our Program Starter Guide and Drill Booklet. The clinic leader and the host will work together through the weeks or months prior to ensure you have a successful clinic. Upcoming ClinicsIf there is not a clinic near you, perhaps you will consider hosting one. Please contact 1-866-928-9009 for more information. |
