Executive Committee requests Athlete Advisory, Equipment, Referee, and Rules Committee’s to develop a safety check list.

As a result of concerns and comments revolving around some issues surfacing from the National Tournament, the Executive Committee has asked for recommendations from these committees to address safety concerns. At the most recent Executive Board meeting, the discussion of player safety was a topic of discussion. A comprehensive check list of two types should be developed. The first for pre-game referee use; this check list could involve ball pressure, guard height, etc. The other would address concerns of potential safety concerns as it relates to emergency response and plans for events. This type of check list could include, an evacuation plan for the facility, first aide kit, ADE or defibrillator, etc.

The Executive Committee would like to have recommendations presented by September 30, 2008 for review and consideration.

President Dominic Russo is quoted as saying:” Player safety must be our top priority.”
