Dear USPSA Members:
Below you will find the 2011 USPSA Executive Committee candidates and a summary of duties for the position for which they are running. The election will be held at the Annual General Meeting on June 17 in Norcross, GA.
JOIN THE "Let YOUR Voice Be Heard for 60" CAMPAIGN
As you may have noticed, the number "60" has been added to our campaign title. Why? The number "60" has been added because this is our vote goal for this year! The USPSA has 60 eligible voting teams and we want all 60 teams to "Let YOUR Voice Be Heard for 60" during this year's election. Since the birth of the USPSA, we have yet to have a 100% membership vote! The NEC is challenging each and every team to "Let YOUR Voice Be Heard for 60," whether it is by absentee ballot, proxy ballot, or physically showing up to vote at the annual meeting!* The USPSA cares about serving our members!
*Annual meeting and ballot information will be out within the upcoming weeks.
NEC REQUEST!
We are requesting that the membership begin submitting questions that you would want to know from the candidates prior to team representatives casting votes via absentee/proxy ballots, or at the annual meeting. Once the questions are submitted, candidates will be asked to answer the questions and responses will be distributed to teams.
Please e-mail all questions to uspsa [dot] nec [at] gmx [dot] com by Wednesday, May 11 and be sure to include your team name. Team and individual names will be anonymous unless otherwise given permission.
Get involved and Let YOUR Voice Be Heard for 60!

Mark Jones,
California
I am passionate about this great sport and have been thinking for a while of how to become more involved. In all of the tournaments I have attended, I seem to have a good relationship with all of the other referees and players and coaches. I bring a professional attitude to this game, it and athletes deserve. I work well in groups and while I can have a strong attitude for issues, I am also able to go along with a consensus of the group. I want to help develop the referee program, taking all information and comments that the committee members have received and develop a program that will make us better. I do not like complacency in any program, and it is time to do something with the referee program to make a notable. There are great resources with the good qualifying referees that are participating in the sport and this wealth of information could be tapped into to come up with a program that will bring consistency to the officiating of this game.

Nancy Mitchell,
California
My name is Nancy Mitchell and I am running for USPSA Treasurer. I have spent the past 15 years volunteering as a financial officer on my local council (29 units) and district (150 units) PTAs.
My main duty has been to collect dues from all PTA members and insurance/Workers Comp premiums from all PTA unit/council organizations, forwarding them to the next level of PTA. PTA is a 501(c)(3) organization and I am very familiar with the tax reporting forms and regulations that all tax exempt organizations must follow.
In addition, councils and districts have their own budgets for programs and grants, which I have administered. My daughter Jenny is USPSA Secretary and I am a San Jose Steamrollers "soccer Mom," helping the team at practices and games. I have accompanied the team to the three previous National Championships in Atlanta and Indianapolis. I look forward to continuing my activities with power soccer.

I enjoy the opportunity to spread the word about power soccer and introduce it to new players and communities as well as support already existing programs in the west. It is my belief that sports and recreation provide a path to greater achievement to which all people should have access, and the USPSA is a tremendous force towards creating a world in which that is true.
During my time as West Coast Regional Director I have led clinics in: Glendale, CA, Fresno, CA, Sacramento, CA, Oakland, CA, San Jose, CA, Salt Lake City, UT, Boulder, CO, Reno, NV and MDA Camps in Northern and Central CA and Lake Tahoe, NV.
For the future I am actively pursuing development of new teams in San Diego, CA, Salt Lake City UT and Visalia, CA and am working with the Veterans Administration on offering power soccer clinics regularly at the VA Hospital in Palo Alto, CA. I welcome member's input on opportunities for potential clinics and the development of teams and competition in the west.
If re-elected it would be my honor to continue to serve power soccer and the USPSA in the position of West Coast Regional Director.

I have been playing Power Soccer for over 18 years and have seen what this sport can do for individuals, communities, and families; I would like to continue to let even more people know about this sport. My goal is to continue to develop Power Soccer hubs like the North East...South Florida... Texas... and everywhere in between.
