Events Intro
Here you can find up-to-date information and news on all the events for the United States Power Soccer Association. Throughout the year, the USPSA participates in several events across the country, including demonstrations, camps, tournaments to help develop and promote the sport of power soccer. Check back often for updates and info on all of the current events involving the USPSA.
Tournament Scheduling
USPSA sanctioned tournaments should be scheduled in advance with the USPSA Secretary by submitting the Tournament Scheduling Form. Central scheduling assures that your tournament will not conflict with others around the area. This is especially important if you want to invite teams from around the country! By providing USPSA with your tournament information, we can help you publicize your event online and in the e-newsletter, as well as help you get referees for your games. We can only help when we are informed, so please keep us updated about your event by using the form. Thanks!
Clinics and Demos
New Athlete Clinics are held year round and nationwide for any community that has the interest in providing the sport in their area. USPSA board members, member teams and volunteers present these clinics in order to introduce power soccer to potential athletes, coaches, friends and families and promote the development of this fast growing sport. Many clinics are conducted at MDA summer camps, local parks and recreation departments, schools and colleges. Frequently, clinics are initiated by ordinary people who happen to know someone in a power chair.
The main responsibility of the "host city" is to secure an accessible facility that has a regulation size basketball court or a comparable space. The USPSA will assist you with materials and outreach ideas to find and recruit your target audience. The clinic leader will provide the necessary equipment such as guards, balls, and cones.
The clinic leader may conduct your presentation through a variety of means; DVD presentation, a "hand's on" clinic where the participants actually learn through skill and game play, or perhaps through our Program Starter Guide and Drill Booklet. The clinic leader and the host will work together through the weeks or months prior to ensure you have a successful clinic.
Abilities Expos 2012
The USPSA and the Abilities Expo have partnered for the last few years in an effort to promote the sport of power soccer. The Abilities Expo does a fantastic job promoting the many opportunities available to the disabled community through these events. This coming year will be no different, with six Abilities Expos planned across the US this year, the USPSA is preparing to showcase the sport at each expo with a booth and exhibition games.
For teams that live near one of the scheduled Abilities Expo's we would encourage you to consider taking part. It is a wonderful opportunity to meet potential athletes and share with them the sport of power soccer. Once arrangements have been made for attending the expos, your team will be contacted with the chance to take part in the exhibition games and/or helping to man the booth. Below is a schedule for the upcoming Abilities Expos. More information about each expo will be provided as the dates get closer.
